Yale Child Study Center and Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence (YCEI) performed this study on 135 undergraduate students over the course of eight weeks. In the end, they measured the results against those of a control group.

The training program included breathwork, yoga and social connection. Researchers concluded, that these were the tools most beneficial to students’ mental health. They reported improvements in several areas: depression, stress, mental health, mindfulness, positive affect, and social connectedness.
In conclusion, participants reported that especially breathwork helped them cope with stress, anxiety and overall mental health. And why should what works for college students not work for everybody else, right?!
